계시록19장1절의 큰무리는 누구인가?

This post is not intended to be taken dogmatically; I do not insist that its conclusions are correct; they are just presented for consideration.

계시록 19장 1~9절의 내용을 한번 읽어 보자.

Chapter 19
1 Well after all that, I heard what sounded like the voices of a huge crowd proclaiming from the skies:
‘Praise Jah! [Yes, praise] the salvation, the glory, and the power of our God, 2 for His judgments are righteous and true! He has finally passed judgment on the great whore who made the whole earth filthy with her immoral sex, and He has avenged the blood of His slaves [who died] at her hands!’

3 Then they shouted a second time:
‘Praise Jah; because the smoke from her will keep ascending through ages of ages!’

4 And at that, the twenty-four elders and the four cherubs fell down and bowed low before The God as He sat on His throne, saying:
‘May it be so! Praise Jah!’

5 And a voice came out of the throne that said:
‘Praise our God, all of you who are His slaves…  yes you, the great and the small, who fear Him!’

6 Then I heard what sounded like the voices of a huge crowd, along with the noise of a lot of water and heavy thunder. They were shouting:
‘Praise Jah! For Jehovah our God the Almighty has started ruling as king! 7 Let’s rejoice, shout in joy, and glorify Him, since it’s time for the Lamb’s wedding!

‘Yes, his bride has now prepared herself, 8 and she’s been found worthy to be dressed in bright, clean, fine linen, for the fine linen represents the righteousness of the Holy Ones.’

9 Then he said to me:
‘Write this down: Those who are invited to the Lamb’s wedding banquet are blest!’ 
And he added:
‘God really said this.’

여길 보면 1절과 6절에 큰 무리(huge crowd)란 표현이 딱 두 번 나온다. 그렇다면 여기에 언급된 "큰 무리"는 과연 누구일까 계시록 7장 9절에 나오는 큰 무리 와 같은 그룹 일까 결론부터 말하자면 아니다. 여기에 나오는 큰 무리는 하늘에 있는 수많은 숫자를 알 수 없는 천사들이다.

이 문제를 확실히 검토하기 위하여 계시록 7장 9절과 10절의 내용을 비교하지 않을 수 없다.  계시7:9,10:

And after that, I saw {Look!} a crowd so large that no one could count them. They came from all countries, nationalities, ethnic groups, and languages, and they were all standing within view (gr. enopion) of the Lamb and the throne. They were each wearing white robes and carrying palm branches in their hands, 10 and they were shouting:
‘We owe our salvation to our God who is sitting on the throne and to the Lamb!’

여기에 나오는 큰 무리는 틀림없이 사람들임이 분명하다 우리는 그 점을 어떻게 알 수 있을까?  왜냐하면 이들에 대한 묘사를 나라들에서 그리고 각각의 다른 언어에서 그리고 다른 여러 인종 그룹에서 나오는 것으로 9절에서는 묘사했다. 

그뿐만 아니라 10절에서는 하나님과 어린양에 의해서 이들이 구출받은  신분임을 알 수 있다. 천사들은 구출받을 필요가 없다.  따라서 우린 여기의 큰무리는 사람들임을 이해한다.  그러나 계시록 19장의 "거대한 무리"(huge crowd)는 다르다. 이들은 사람들이 아니다. 그점을 어떻게 알 수 있을까?

그점을 이해하려면 18장과19장을 전체적으로 검토해볼필요가 있다. 먼저 7장9절의 큰무리와  19장1절의 큰무리의 희랍어가 비슷하지만 약간 다르다.  바이블허브를 통해서 살펴보자. 먼저 계시7장9절이다.

Ochlos(a multitude)/polys(great)

이제 19장1절이다.

ὄχλου 《ochlou》(of a multitude) πολλοῦ《 pollou》(great)

둘째로 19장의 여러내용은 하늘에 있는 여러 다른 영자들(celestial beings)의 무리를 설명하는 상황이다. 왜냐하면 18장에서 큰바벨론의 멸망을 자세히 언급한뒤의 하늘에서 있게되는 환호성을 표명한것이기 때문이다.

  이환호성은 계시록19장의 마지막부분을 읽어보면 알게되듯이 아마겟돈 전쟁직전의 상황이다.  이전쟁을 통해서 마지막 세계정부와 거짓예언자와 땅의 왕들이 불못(second death)에 던져진다. 큰바벨론의 멸망을 도대체 누가 그렇게 환호할까? 

계시록 5장11절에 등장하는 여러 주체들이다. 이들은 누구일까?    이사야서6장은 하늘의 스랍천사들에 대하여 알려준다.  그리고 에스겔서1장과10절은 그룹천사에 대한 묘사가 있다. 그리고계시록4장은 4생물에 대하여 말한다. 그런데 이들의 날개가 6개로 묘사되어있다. 

이점이 계시록4장8절에 나온다. 이사야6장의 스랍천사들 역시 날개가 6개로 묘사되어있다.   반면에 에스겔서의 그룹천사는 날개가 4개이다.  

게다가 계시록4장8절에 나오는 외침과 이사야6장3절에 나오는 외침의 내용이 똑같다.   그뿐만아니라  에스겔 1장10절(그룹천사에 관한묘사)과 계시록4장7절을 비교해보면  4개의얼굴이 나온다.  그리고 4얼굴의 모양이 똑같다.  《사람,사자,소,독수리》 그런데 이사야 6장의 스랍들의  경우는 구체적인 얼굴묘사가 없다. 

따라서 계시록 4장의 4생물의 외모가  일부는 에스겔서1장10절의 그룹천사와 일치하지만 날개의 숫자는 오히려 아사야 6장의 스랍천사의 그것과 일치하는것을 볼 수 있다.  뿐만아니라 계시록4장8절의 외침의 내용은 아사야서 6장3절의  스랍천사들의 외침내용과 똑같다.

그런 이유로 인해  우린 계시록4장의 네 생물이 스랍천사인지 그룹천사인지가 헷갈린다. 그럼에도 불구하고  일부 성서번역판은 계시록의 네생물을 그룹천사로 번역한것을 볼 수 있다.   그런 사례가 여기나온다.  그점을 살펴보자. 계시록5장11절. (LXX.2001)

Then I looked around, because I heard the voices of many messengers who were all around the throne and who (along with the cherubs and the elders) numbered into the millions and tens of millions.

1)voices of many angels.(수백만아니 수천만명의 숫자를 알수없는 일반천사들의 무리)

2)voices of cherubs(네생물이라고 어떤성경엔 표현되어있음)   여기번역엔 네생물이"cherubs"이라 표현되어있다.《Cherubs 천사들만 언급되었고 스랍천사는 언급이 없는거로 보아, 스랍천사와 그룹천사두그룹을  "그룹천사"로 명명한것으로 보인다.》 

하지만 이사야6장과 계시록4장을 비교해보면  둘다 날개가 6개인것으로 표현하였다. 물론 영자들이므로 우리가 생각하는 새의날개와 같은것이 있을리가 만무하다.  하지만 비유적으로 그렇게 표현되어있다.

3)voices of elders(24장로들)

이들 영자들의 특권별 위치를 알 수있는 묘사가  계시4장에 나온다.  4장전체를 살펴보자.

계시4장전체.

Chapter 4
1 Well, after I saw those things, I saw a door that opened up in the sky. And the first voice that I heard speaking to me (which sounded like a trumpet) said:
‘Now, come on up here, and I’ll show you what must happen next.’

2 And at that, I immediately [became like] the wind. And look… there was a throne in the sky, and someone was sitting upon the throne. 3 The One who was sitting on it looked like jasper and sardius gems, and all around his throne was a rainbow that looked like an emerald.

4 Then, surrounding this throne, there were twenty-four more thrones, upon which sat twenty-four elders who were each dressed in white robes and who had garlands of gold on their heads. 5 And at the time, there was lightning, thunder, and voices coming from the throne. Then in front of the throne there were seven flaming lamps, which were the seven Spirits of The God.

6 Also in front of the throne was a transparent sea that looked like crystal. And on each of the four sides of the throne there was a cherub that had many eyes on its front and back sides.

7 The first cherub looked like a lion, the second looked like a young bull, the third had the face of a man, and the fourth looked like a flying eagle. 8 Also, each of the four cherubs had six wings that were wrapped around them, and the inner parts of their wings were full of eyes. These didn’t rest night or day, and they were saying:
‘Holy, holy, holy is Jehovah God the Almighty… the One who was, who is, and who is coming.’

9 Then as the cherubs were giving glory, honor, and thanks to the One who was sitting on the throne (the One who lives through the ages of ages), 10 the twenty-four elders fell down before Him and bowed to their faces. Then they threw their garlands in front of His throne, and started saying: 
11 ‘O Jehovah our God; You deserve all the glory, honor, and power, because You created everything… yes, everything was created and exists because You willed it to be!’

이글을 잘 검토해보면  항상 옛적부터 계신분이 있고 그분의 가장 가까운곳에  24장로가 면류관을쓰고 앉아있고 그다음으로 네생물 곧  그룹천사가 나온다.

그러나 4장에는 일반천사가 나오지 않는다. 하지만 5장11절에 이들에 대한 묘사가 제법 상세히 나온다. 이제 소개하는 내용은 많은수의 하늘 천사들이 소리지르는 내용이다. (계시19장1절2절)

Praise Jah! [Yes, praise] the salvation, the glory, and the power of our God, 2 for His judgments are righteous and true! He has finally passed judgment on the great whore who made the whole earth filthy with her immoral sex, and He has avenged the blood of His slaves [who died] at her hands!

여길보면 "He has avenged the blood of His slaves{who died} at her hands"라고 외친다. 이것은 이들 거대한무리가 창녀에의해 살해당한 당사자가 아니라는것을 시사한다.   달리말하자면 이들은 제삼자들이다.  만약 이들이 큰바빌론으로 인해서 살해당하고 난뒤에 부활되어 하늘생명으로 올라간 "인류가운데서 나온 큰무리"라면 이런식으로 외칠 이유가 없다. 오히려 계시록 6장에나오는 제단및의 영혼들의 외침 내용하고 비슷해야 할것이다.   그내용은 다음과같다.   (계시6:10)

10 They were crying out in loud voices and asking:
‘How much longer, O Sovereign Lord who is holy and true, will You keep holding back Your judgments and from bringing vengeance for✔ our blood ✔upon those who live on the earth?’

그렇다. 자신들을 포함시키지 않은 외침의 내용으로보아 이것은 계시록7장의 큰무리가 아니다.

이제살펴보는것은  19장의 거대한무리의 외침의  두번째 내용이다.(계시19장3절)

Praise Jah; because the smoke from her will keep ascending through ages of ages!’

다음은 이들 외침의 3번째 내용이다.(계19:6~8)

Praise Jah! For Jehovah our God the Almighty has started ruling as king! 7 Let’s rejoice, shout in joy, and glorify Him, since it’s time for the Lamb’s wedding!

‘Yes, his bride has now prepared herself, 8 and she’s been found worthy to be dressed in bright, clean, fine linen, for the fine linen represents the righteousness of the Holy Ones.’

굵게 표시된 내용을 유의해보면, 이들이 어린양의 신부반열도 아님을 알 수 있다.  《만일 이들이 어린양의 신부반열이라면 "his bride has now prepared" 라고 표현할리가 만무하다. 이들 숫자를 알수없는 거대한 무리(huge crowd)는 하늘의 천사들 즉 (celestial beings) 임이 분명하다》

계시록19장에는 자신들의 구출에 대한 언급도없고, 자신들의 출신성분이 인류였다는 표현도없다. 당연하다. 이들은 당사자가 아니라 제3자신분이다.   이들은 계시록5장11절에 언급된 숫자를 알 수 없는 큰무리의 천사들임이 분명하다. 

일부종교그룹의 목사들은 19장의 거대한 무리가 7장9절의 큰무리라고 가르치는 기독교목사들이 많이 있다. 이들이 강력히 이같은 주장을 하는이유가 있다! 

만일 하늘에 있는 거대한 무리(huge crowd)가 계시록 7장의 "큰무리"와 같은존재들이라고 한다면  예수를 믿고따르는 모든자들은 하늘에서 살게 된다는 그들종교그룹의 기본교리를 뒷받침하는것이 되기 때문이다.

과연 모든종교에서 가르치듯이 예수를 믿는 모든자들은 하늘에서 살게될까?

이문제를 명확히 이해하려면 고대이스라엘의  레위제사직을 철저히 이해하여야한다. 

결론부터 말하자면 아니다. 

신약성경에서 말하는 하늘생명은 분명한 예수님의 약속이다. 이점이 강조되어있다.

그렇지만, 계시록을 철저히 연구해보아도 분명치 않은점이 있다. 

1)천년통치는 어린양과 신부반열144,000명이 지구를 다스리는것인가?

2)이들은 왕겸제사장으로  하늘에서 통치할까?  땅위로 내려와서 통치할까?

3)이들이 땅으로 내려오는 싯점은 천년통치가  끝난이후일까?  천년통치가 시작하려할때 내려올까?  계시5장10절

4)이들의 통치기간은 천년에 한정될까? 아니면 영원히 지속될까? 계시 22:5절

5)계시록7장9절의 큰무리는 어떤방식으로 큰환난에서 나오는걸까? 계시7:14

6)이들은 어떤방식으로 결혼피로연에 참석하게될까? 계시 19:9
이들 역시 휴거 되는걸까? 살전4:17

7)결혼피로연이 끝나면 이들 참석자들(피로연에 초대받은자들)은 다시 "땅"으로 귀환하는걸까?

8)계시록15장에 묘사된 유리바다의 "옆에" 서있는 야수에게 승리한자들은  살해되었다가 부활된자들일까? 아니면 큰환난에서 구출된자들일까? 아니면 계시록16장에 나오는 일곱대접의 재앙이 땅과 공기와 태양에 쏟아지기 직전에  기적같이 구출받는자들일까? 

이들은 과거 홍해바다를 통과했던 사람들처럼 하나님에의해 구출을 경험하는 자들일까?    계시록 15장2절의  유리바다 옆에 서있는자들은 미래에 하늘삶을 살게될까? 아니면 땅에서 살게될까?

9)계시15장의  야수에게 승리한자들《이들은 죽음에 직면해서도 타협하지 않았다는것을  의미한다》은 어린양의 신부반열일까?  아니면 어린양의 결혼식의 피로연에 초대받은자들일까?

10)계시록에 여러차례 등장하는 24장로는 누구일까? 

계시록5장10절의 설명이다.

For, you’re the one that was slaughtered
To buy a people for God with your blood
From every tribe, language, country, and race,
10 To serve as Kings and Priests of our God, 
And to rule as Kings on (gr. epi) the earth.’

여길보면 이들이 "땅위에서 하나님의 왕겸제사장으로 봉사할것"이라고 표현되어있다.  그뿐만아니라 다른곳에도 이와 비슷한 표현이 나온다. 다음은 계시록21장 1~6절이다. 이성구를 보면 거룩한도시 "새예루살렘"이 하늘로부터 땅으로 내려온다는표현이  2절과 10절에 두차례 나온다.

Chapter 21
1 Well at that, I saw new skies and new lands, because the previous skies and lands had disappeared, as had the seas. 2 I also saw the Holy City, New JeruSalem, stepping down out of the sky from God, prepared like a bride who had been adorned for her man.

3 Then I heard a loud voice from the throne say:
‘Look! The Tent of God is with mankind! He’s going to pitch His Tent among them, then they’ll be His people and He’ll be their God. 4 He’s going to wipe all the tears from their eyes and there won’t be any more death, mourning, wailing, or pain, because all that once was will be gone!’

5 And the One who was sitting on the throne said: ‘Look! I’m making everything new!’ And he added:
‘Write this down, because these words are faithful and true.’

6 Then He said to me:
‘It has all been accomplished! I’m the Alpha and the Omega – the beginning and the end – and I’m going to give everyone that is thirsty a free drink from the Spring of the Water of Life!

다음은 21장10절의 내용이다.

10 So he carried me off on the wind to an enormously high mountain, and there he showed me JeruSalem, the Holy City, as it was coming down out of the sky from God.

물론 2절과 10절에 "땅으로" 란 표현이 나오지 않는다. 그렇지만 하늘로부터 거룩한도시가 내려온다는 표현을 볼때, 그리고 4~6절의 여러 표현들을 볼때 《이곳에 등장하는 표현들은 현재 지상에서 일어나는 현상들임》거룩한도시 "새예루살렘"이  내려오는곳과 목적을  이해할 수 있다. 내려오는곳은 "지구"이고 목적은 21장5절의 선언처럼 "모든것을 새롭게 하기 위해서이다"("Look I am making all things new")

여기표현을 읽을때 다음과 같은 질문이 떠오른다.  새예루살렘이 하늘에서 땅으로 내려온다는 표현은 어린양의 신부반열이 지구위로 내려온다는 뜻인가? 아니면 이들의 통치력 혹은 파워가 직접적으로 지구상에 미친다는말을 비유적으로 표현한것인가?  

만일 이표현 즉 새예루살렘이 문자적으로 하늘에서 내려오는것이 아니라면 왜? 이러한 거룩한도시의  "coming"이  1,000년 통치 이후  사탄과 그의 추종자들이 모두 사라진 이후에 이러한 "coming"이 일어나는것으로  묘사했을까? 

계시록22장1~5절을 보면 "거룩한도시"가 이땅위에 내려온 이후에 생기게되는 변화를 묘사한다. 먼저 생명수강이 흐르게되고  생명수가 흐르는강 주변으로 생명나무들이 자라면서 일년에 12차례 열매를 산출한다.

그뿐만아니다. 생명나무의 잎사귀로 모든나라의 백성들을 "치료"하는일이 있게된다.  그러므로 거룩한도시가 내려오는곳은 이같은 치료가 반드시 팔요한 사람들이 사는  이"땅"이다. 여기 계시22장의 내용을 포스팅한다. 

Chapter 22
1 Well after that, he showed me the River of the Water of Life… it was crystal clear and it flowed out [from under] the Throne of The God and of the Lamb, 2 down the middle of the street. And along both of its banks were the Trees of Life, which bore twelve [crops of] fruit, putting out the fruit every month; and the Trees’ leaves were used to heal the nations.

3 Then, everything that might cause people to sin will thereafter be gone, for the Throne of God and of the Lamb will always be there, where His slaves can come to bow low before Him 4 and see His face, and they’ll wear His Name on their foreheads.

5 Also, since there won’t be any night, they won’t need lamps or sunlight, because Jehovah (The God) will be shining upon them, and they’ll rule as kings through ages of ages.

여길보면 특이한 표현이 있다.그것은 3절의 내용이다. 이표현은 대부분의 히브리텍스트를 기본으로 번역한 표현과 다르다. 다음의 내용이다. 《당연히 신세계역에는 이표현이 빠져있다.》

3 Then, "everything that might cause people to sin will thereafter be gone"

이성구는 두가지 중대한사실을 우리에게 알려준다. 첫째로 계시21장10절의 새예루살렘이 내려오는곳이  사람들이 사는"땅"이라는사실이다. 왜냐하면 사람들 이라고 언급했기 때문이다. 

둘째로 사람들로 하여금 "죄"를 짓게 만드는 모든것《사탄도 인간정부들도 거짓 예언자도 기타 죄인들도!》이 사라졌다는 사실이다.   이말은 사람들이 더이상 죄를 범하지 않는다는말이다.  이것은 더이상 제사직《죄의 용서를 위한 마련》이  존재할 필요가 없음을 의미한다.

아직 성취되지 않은 예언을 고려할때 매우 조심해야한다.  자신의 "추정"이 옳다라고 강력히 주장하는것은
진실한 성서연구생의 태도와 조화가 안된다.

때가되면  밝혀질것으로 기대하는것이 맞다. 

계시 19장에는 3종류의 주체들이 등장한다. 맨먼저 19장1절에 거대무리의 천사들이 나오고 둘째로19장 4절에 보면 24장로와  그룹천사들 역시 등장한다.

만약 우리가 19장1절의 등장하는 거대한무리가(huge crowd) 계시록7장9절의 큰무리와 같은그룹이라고 결론 내린다면 다음과 같은 질문에 도대체가  대답할 수 가 없다. 

19장1절의 무리가  모든 나라와 언어와 민족에서 나온 큰무리라면, 계시록 5:11의 일반천사들은 어디에서 뭘하고  있는것인가?  지금은 하늘의 모든 영자들이 환호성을 지르는 타이밍이다!

이들 일반천사가 19장14절에 나오는 흰말타고 말씀천사를 따라오는자들인가? 이들천사들이 1절의 천사인지 명확하지 않다. 그럼에도불구하고 19장1절의 거대한무리는 일반천사임이 분명하다.  왜냐하면 이들의 환호성의 내용이 그런결론을 유도한다.  계시19장2절의 내용을 음미해보라.

for His judgments are righteous and true! He has finally passed judgment on the great whore who made the whole earth filthy with her immoral sex, and He has avenged the blood of His slaves [who died] at her hands!’ 

《만일 일부 목사들의 주장대로 19장1절의 거대한무리가 인간들이고 하늘로 부활되어  하늘생명을  부여받은 자들이라면 여기표현이 이상하게 느껴진다. 왜냐하면 "그분의 종들의 피에 대한 복수를 집행하셨다"라고 하기보다는 "우리의 피에 대한 복수를 집행하셨다!라고 해야 맞다."》

계시록7장9절을 통해  우리가 그렇게 생각하는 이유를 확인할 수 있다. 거길보면 자신들의 구원에 대한 언급이 나온다. 이들은 틀림없이 큰환난에서 나오는 인간들이다.

위의 표현을 보면 큰바벨론이 왜 하나님의 심판을 받았는지 그에대한 이유가 묘사되었다. 첫째로 정치조직과 부도덕한 간음을 하였기 때문이고 둘째로는 그녀의 손에 하나님의 종들의 피가(자신들의 흘린피가 묻어있는것이아니라) 묻어있기때문이다.

이러한 표현법은 이들이 제3의 관찰자적 관점을 갖고있기 때문이다.

즉 이들이 큰바벨론의 "Killings"의 피해자가 아니라는 증거다.  만일 이들이 피해자라면 그점이 표현되었을 것이다.

그러므로 19장1절의 거대한무리는 계시록5장11절의 일반천사들의 거대한 무리《Huge Crowd》임이 분명하다.
